Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the 31 Days of Decluttering!

How did you do with your shoes?  I stored my summer shoes in a seasonal bin I have in my closet and put out only the shoes and boots I will wear now until spring.  Saves me a little visual clutter which makes me happy.

Now it’s time to tackle all those clothes!

The first thing I did was pack away all my summer things.  Depending on where you live, you may have already done this, but in my area we can still get nice days through September.  October seems to mark the official start of fall and it’s time to pack away the capris and shorts.

I was able to purge and went from 4 bins to 2.  Whoohoo!  Feels good!

Totally empty!

These used to be stacked two high.

Because this is such a BIG part of the closet we will take 2 days to complete.  Don’t want anyone to get overwhelmed.

Just remember our 3 questions…and get working on those seasonal clothes.

How about you?  Do you store seasonal clothing or do you have it all out at the same time?

Have a blessed day!

  1. I was a teacher for 12 years and became a mom 3 years ago. This past winter I cleaned out my closet of all the clothes that I would never wear again. Of course, I just got rid of all my pregnancy things too since my baby is 5 months now. Now I don't have anything that fits right! Anyway, I tend to keep everything out because where I live it is mild to cold and I don't have a lot of space. But I do need to organize my dresser of things that I can wear and things that I hope to wear after I lose some weight!

  2. I don't store seasonal clothes. I don't even have that much clothes! haha. I wear a lot of uniforms for work and we switch colors every 6 months so I change from one to the next and store the others. I guess that counts! :)

  3. Shonda...the same thing happened to me after I had my babies! I am now (8yrs later) finally getting the weight off!
Healthy Branscoms...I am hoping to get my clothes stash down. Much easier to deal with!
    Thanks for sharing girls!
